About Christy's Hope
Christy’s Hope raised $120,000 for the San Antonio Battered Women and Children's Center
San Antonio, TX (November 8, 2006) – Christine Prescott founder of Christy’s Hope presented a $120,000 check to Martha Pelaez, Managing Director of the San Antonio Battered Women and Children’s Center raised by the 2006 Christy’s Hope Golf Tournament.
Due to the generosity of our supporters, the Family Violence Prevention Services (FVPS) provided services to approximately 3,600 children between the ages of infant to seventeen years old. |
These services included: educational computer software, educational field trips year-round, basic computer instruction, and fine arts activities and material. Since its inception 8 years ago, Christy’s Hope charity golf tournament has raised over $350,000 dollars to support the San Antonio Battered Women’s Shelter.

Family violence is the #1 crime and cause of injury to women in the U.S. and is believed to be the most common, yet least reported crime in the country. The San Antonio Battered Women’s Shelter has become a model for the nation by introducing innovative programs designed to help women and children become more self-sufficient and Christy’s Hope is pleased to help contribute resources to ensure it’s continued success.
The team of dedicated volunteers that work to make Christy’s Hope so successful is comprised of both CTP and Rennert employees as well as a significant number of CTP & Rennert’s clients and vendors. Thanks to the generous donation of their time and resources, the success of this event has contributed significantly to helping make a difference in the lives of women and children who have been victims of domestic violence, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the shelter. CTP / Rennert Travel are proud to have the opportunity to give back to our community and is grateful to all the supporters of Christy’s Hope for it’s success, without whom it would not be possible. For more information about this incredible charity or to participate in our 2007 Tournament, please visit www.christyshope.org.
